Community Updates

As always, we will be having our Thanksgiving dinner in November, be on the lookout for more information.

Medicare: Open enrollment being October 15th!

Once a year, from October 15th to December 7th, Medicare recipients can change their health insurance plans for January 1st of the following year. While having the freedom to change your health insurance plan can save you money, there are many health insurance plans and companies to choose from.

You don’t have to make the decision alone, the Somerville Council on Aging has SHINE Counseling available in person, over the phone, or on Zoom, to assist you with finding out what health insurance options are available for you.

You can call Natasha at 617-625-6600 ext. 2317 or Molly at ext. 2318 to book an appointment.

Management would like to wish Elaine Ballai a happy retirement we wish you well on your retirement and sad to see you go.

  • Smoking: Management would like to remind all residents that Cobble Hill is a smoke-free property, and we hope that all residents will adhere to the company’s no-smoking rules. This means refraining from smoking in your unit or on the property. Please ensure that you also inform your guests about Cobble Hill’s smoke-free policy.

We have a designated smoking area located between buildings 50 and 60. Smoking on the property or inside your unit is strictly prohibited.

Elevators: As we all know, elevators can sometimes malfunction. If you ever find yourself stuck in an elevator, remember not to panic. First, press the open-door button. If that doesn’t work, you can use the phone inside the elevator. It will automatically call the office or an answering service. When you make this call, the phone will indicate which building you are in, allowing you to inform the person on the other end that you are stuck in the elevator. Alternatively, you can also push the red button for the alarm to alert the building staff that you need assistance. Our management takes elevator issues seriously and will take immediate action. At times, we may need to wait for the elevator maintenance contractor to arrive and resolve the problem.

  • Heat: The heat was turned back on September 15th, please turn on your thermostat to make sure it’s working correctly, if not call the management office and place a work order maintenance will be more than happy to fix it. Also make sure you do not block your heat with household items like furniture this way the heat can circulate properly and heat up your unit in the winter months. Thank you Kon and staff.
